THREAD: The bizarre criminal case where Portland's Feminist and Trans Rights ideologies collide:

1/ Last week Rebekah Brewis of PDX Trans Pride was indicted on 3 counts of aggravated theft of t-shirt and other sales from Women's March on Portland...

oregonlive.com/news/2019/05/w…
2/ Organizers of the Women's March failed to notice that PDX Trans Pride was not actually registered as the 501c3 nonprofit it claimed to be...

3/ Also overlooked was Brewis' hefty criminal record, including prison stints for felony robbery. Likely the reason this was overlooked is that those crimes were committed when Rebekah Brewis was known as Jorey Lee Brewis...

4/ Jorey Lee Brewis legally changed his name to Rebekah in 2010, two and a half years after removing his own testicles, using his bare hands, while in prison.
5/ In 2011, the now-Rebekah Brewis sued the state mental hospital, to which she'd been transferred for discrimination because it offered to treat her resulting health problems from testosterone loss (from the self castration) with testosterone replacement

6/ Crucial to her lawyers' arguments in that case was the contention that testosterone was the wrong drug for "her" because her depression and mental health problems were due to being a woman trapped in a man's body.
7/ The court case was dropped when she was released from prison, whereupon she pursued her dream of gender reassignment and treatment with the "correct" hormones...
8/ The moral of this story, if it can be called that, is a series of questions:

--Is this transgender estrogen therapy considered a success in working out those mental health/criminality issues?

--Why is it wrong to pose as one thing you aren't, but right to pose as another?
