I'm not sure if Democrats are actually afraid of this argument, but if any of them are they are it shows just how utterly deluded they are about what moves voters. It's of a piece with "Voters will reward us for being the responsible ones!" 1/3
Ask Republicans whether mounting 8 separate Benghazi investigations hurt them in the 2016 election. 2/3
Being the responsible ones, respecting norms of good behavior, etc. may be worthwhile in themselves, but they don't matter one way or the other to the next election. The fact that some Democrats still think they do is mind-boggling. 3/3
