A glaring absurdity:

Trump is threatening to prosecute Democrats, accusing them of treason, and treating all oversight requests as illegitimate.

Meanwhile, he's demanding constructive engagement from Dems on things *he* desperately needs for reelection:

A lot of folks on the left are angry that Dem leaders are talking to Trump about infrastructure.

But come on, this isn't hard to explain. Here's why they're doing it.

Here's the thing.

A deal for Trump on infrastructure, and a renegotiated NAFTA, would go a long way towards addressing his biggest weaknesses heading into reelection.

Despite Trump's latest tantrum, the fact is, he isn't the one with the leverage here:
