The 3rd world needs to change the way it thinks about infrastructure from "what we need so the elite can live the way Westerners live" to "what we need so ordinary people can make things".
Real revolutions unlock the power of ordinary life. It's not about keeping up with Joneses. You may not want what the Joneses want.
One of the reasons Communism has such appeal in the 3rd world is it's a sideways change. A shift from one set of aristocrats to the other. Just a change in the name of the Big Man.
