extremely necessary safety barrier between our elected officials and the dangerous riff raff who want to spend their afternoon watching powerpoints about regional economic development
the staff entrance and the public entrance are literally 20 feet apart but only one of them is flanked by cops. weird.
starting off the meeting with a confusing dedication about D Day. i think maybe county supervisor randolph got his WWII history from man in the high castle? he says without those brave troops america would be divided between japan & germany today.

unclear why the powerpoint is showing a picture of another powerpoint that is just a picture of a stool
kathy has interrupted the presentation in progress because she is mad the document doesn’t include the hydraulic small area plan.
there is a lot of confusion in the room about how city & county housing voucher programs don’t work together well
this meeting is mostly everyone agreeing that staff should look into some stuff and get back to them so they can talk about it at the next meeting in a few months. when wes gently pointed this out, county supervisor dill was massively condescending to him! this is going great.
the issue of landlords not wanting to accept housing vouchers is not just a city problem. supervisor mckeel says it’s a problem in the county, too, adding that voucher recipients need to live on transit lines, too, which makes this a transit issue as well
i have lived in the city of charlottesville for twelve years. i have literally no idea what is in the city and what is in the county.
azalea park is in the city?! but county residents who live within walking distance of the park can’t walk there because of poor pedestrian access that the county can’t address without building sidewalks that pass through city property?
