Ppl who argued that the Iran deal *should not* address Iran’s non-nuclear mischief are now arguing that Iran’s non-nuclear mischief is because we don’t have the Iran deal. I don’t want to assume bad faith, but no adult human person could possibly be that authentically stupid.
The answer, of course, is that they think reporters are that authentically stupid. And everyone who doesn’t call them on this particularly obvious lie is proving them right.
Obviously the worst part of selling the Iran deal was the rank antisemitism of dual-loyalty accusations and ‘moneyed Jews’ stereotypes. But next was probably the way its advocacy compromised an entire class of academics and journalists.
