There's a subtext to the Brexit WTO Article 24 stuff that is more interesting than the obvious - it only works if we reach a deal - namely the notion that the EU is wrong not to offer a tariff only deal, and this is punishment for the UK or not in their own interests
Two thoughts on response - the first being that it really is up to the EU to decide what is in their own interests, rather than a country leaving, and it is certain that it isn't in their interests to go back on red lines and damage their negotiating credibility
Perhaps though you think the EU is being mean to the UK, and is going to carry on? Trouble is we can't move geographically from the economic bloc on our doorstep. So do we insist on never doing a deal, or compromise? Real world question rarely asked
