Very good reason to exercise skepticism about the Current Goings On: there is no "EU Commission Security Counsel."

I would caution against lumping too many unconnected elements into whatever is going on with Pence right now. When you start connecting a Russian sub fire and a terrorism response team taking off and other random things, you get into conspiracy theory land.

When you start pretending that you know what's going on with Pence when you don't, and you definitely know that all these things are connected when none of them might be, you turn into a QAnon person. Don't turn into a QAnon person.

Was Pence called back to be kicked off the Trump ticket and replaced by JFK Jr.? Maybe. Because the Russians are going to war with someone? Maybe. Because the "mass arrests" foretold by QAnon are starting? Maybe. Because his dog got really sick? Maybe.

We don't know. Breathe.

If a top-secret Russian stealth sub went down off the Alaska coast (as is the rumor), then that would be a situation that required the attention of both US and Russian authorities - hence, the Putin meetings and Pence calling his trip off. Urgent, but not an emergency.

If that's what's going on, a scramble for a crippled Russian stealth sub, then I'd sure as hell want Mike Pence in the room, rather than Ivanka and Bolton running things with Donald watching Hannity reruns on TiVo.

Let's just breathe and see what happens.

Seven hours since the Vice President was summoned back from a flight for an emergency meeting at the White House, and we still have no idea why, and have been told nothing other than we'll find out in two weeks, and virtually nobody is talking about it. #MikePence
