Boris Johnson discovers Wales ->
The thing that annoys me with Boris is, for a smart man, he knows that the English language itself is not static and has a long history of incorporating other languages. Our Island's history is one of immigration. Such a chav (p.s. that's a Romani word, we also pinched it). 
One major problem with brexit so far is that under May it hasn't been about democracy & creating a more global outlook but instead a negative focus on immigration. Everyone I know on the leave side is annoyed with this. Immigration is not and has never been a negative ...
... but, of course, this started long before brexit - the immigration targets. Immigration needs to be invested in (i.e. the related services etc). Once we leave the EU, we will need more immigration not less if we wish to grow as a country. It's also our history.
So, yes ... Boris (assuming he becomes PM) banging on about "speaking English" just after we've have a decade of immigration targets and promises to reduce numbers (why would you? It's a positive) rather than invest in services (austerity!) ... it's just not helpful.
