The CPC swear they won’t touch abortion as an issue. A promise they don’t intend to keep.

Its incredibly difficult to guarantee this and explain this protesters demands for a law restricting abortion, since he’s also the MP who is Chair for the Parliamentary Pro-Life Caucus.

We have JWR to thank for enabling anti-choice activists to subject children to gory images of which no parent would approve.

Can’t advertise pot, but we can horrify kids with enlarged photos that mortify adults.

Normalization of disrespect, acrimony and plain bad manners can not go unchecked by Albertans or Canadians. We must push back at the increasing impertinence of Conservative elected officials. Allowing this behaviour will lead to violent intimidation.

Proudly attaching a clip to garner laughs, approval and admiration from her conservative followers.

This behaviour is increasingly executed by many UCP MLA’s, including the Premier, Jason Kenney.
This is the erosion of norms, Legislative protocol & demonstrates the level of disrespect Cons have for anyone who dares disagree with their ideology.

Savage has no intent to acknowledge anyone but hers & Kenney’s opinion as valid.

Conservatives are using courts & threats of secession to prevent enactment of Bills C-69 & C-48. Failure to halt these bills risks future election chances. Corporate giants are pressuring for unlimited expansion of fossil fuel production. Trillions on the line.
RAGE & LIES

Oil field workers & field services employers are increasingly surplus to industry producers through technology. Oil & gas jobs & local small businesses are desperate to get back to work. Kenney manipulated their collective rage & desperation to get elected.
He’s also given guarantees to oil service giants, who are hedging their survival & future business plans on the approval of unrestricted development of oil resources by producers in US & Canada.

Bills C-69 & C-48 are barriers to those plans and guarantees.

This letter is far right propaganda and gaslighting from a CEO who supports CPC.

Canadian theatres have always censored inappropriate, grossly propagandized material. And rightly so. This film isn’t freedom of expression anymore than effigies of the current PM being hanged are.
This film isn’t a documentary or a serious examination of the issue. It’s far right Christian propaganda. It’s meant to shock and horrify the viewer and convince them that abortion is an industry and should be illegal.
Freedom of expression does encompass controversy. But this isn’t controversial, it’s blatant indoctrination since it’s full of lies and disinformation. It leaves the viewer no choice but to support the criminalization of abortion.

That is indoctrination.

Franchise Tax Board v Hyatt is the sleeper abortion case you have not heard about. Because, of course, it is not about #abortion.

But the decision - and HOW it is reached - is going to determine how the incoming wave of abortion cases are going to be resolved.

The FTB case came from a tax dispute. A former resident of California sued the California Franchise Tax Board in a Nevada state court, claiming that it had done him all manner of wrongs in investigating his purported tax liability.

California does not want to be sued in another state’s courts. The current law, decades old, allows such suits.

The case has nothing to do with abortion, but everything to do with how to overturn precedent.

PWDV Act, 2005, gives a broad definition of what qualifies as ‘domestic abuse’. It includes physical, sexual, verbal, emotional and economic abuse. Section 3 reads:

As context, his predecessor Stan Pyjas was murdered by the Security Bureau. Tusk risked his life to bring down communism, as did many others of that Solidarity generation. Can you pls show respect and try understand the people you’re negotiating with? Your Toryboy glibness shows
He joined Lech Walesa’s first post communist government, and later became a two term serving elected Prime Minister. He’s been President of the European Council. If the EU was in any way like the Soviet Union, Donald Tusk would be in a better position to say so.
