Right-wing lawmakers in Alabama just enacted the most extreme abortion ban in over 40 years, the latest in a wave of abortion bans across the country in states like Georgia, Kentucky, Mississippi, and Ohio. Republicans are on the march to overturn Roe v. Wade.
They’re hoping the Supreme Court will back their radical play, and it might work. Donald Trump packed the courts with extreme, anti-choice judges. Senate Republicans stole a SCOTUS seat & rammed through Justice Kavanaugh’s confirmation in order to cement an anti-choice majority.
Our next President can begin to undo some of the damage by appointing neutral and fair judges who actually respect the law and cases like Roe instead of right-wing ideologues bent on rolling back our rights. But Congress has a role to play as well.

First of all, she says that the Southern Strategy is a "myth," when we have actual documents from inside the Nixon administration and elsewhere on it.

Here's just one example, a 1969 memo written by a young Lamar Alexander, who was a White House aide:
Beyond those internal documents, it's something that Nixon strategists discussed openly in the press at the time as well.

A few days ago, someone in my mentions suggested I put together a thread of all the *other* historians who've debunked @DineshDSouza on Twitter.
I can't find the tweet that suggested it for the life of me, but it's a terrific idea.

As I've noted before, D'Souza likes to pretend this is some sort of personal feud between him and me, when it's pretty much the entire historical profession lined up against him.
Again, in the interest of fairness, let me note for the record that there is *one* historian -- A. James Gregor, the infamous head of a eugenics foundation created with segregationist money -- who apparently likes D'Souza's work, and D'Souza has praised him in return.

It is no surprise Twitter targets accounts for “wrong think” or as we on the #Right like to call it “free-think” this is because of two events which are now totally and utterly inextricably linked, #Brexit and #Trump and the Establishment have been rocked to the core. 2/15
