1) These aren’t the recommendations I get when I type this. Prager may have done so much Googling for negative stuff about themselves they’ve “biased” their own recommendations.

2) It’s, uh, not actually proof of “bias” that Google pulls up negative things about your group.
What do they actually think Google is doing, anyway? Hand-coding a bunch of unflattering statements about Prager into the autocomplete algorithm? Because... that’s not how anything works.
Anyway, I’m tickled by the idea that Prager has spent so much time obsessing about their Google results they’ve trained the algorithm to think they hate Prager. It’s either that or they just fabricated that list of results.
Here’s what I get searching (logged-out) from two different IP addresses.
Obviously some negative stuff comes up in both. But... nobody at Google decided what the list would be. It’s automatically generated based on people’s actual search queries.
Here’s what I get when I Google “@MSNBC is” ... not exactly flattering. They just don’t whine about it like @prageru
I guess Google can’t even get their “bias” right...
Buzzfeed must be conservative too! Who knew?
Will this terrible bias against conservatives never end?
Maybe they’re insidiously DISGUISING their anti-conservative bias by loading negative recs into the autocomplete for queries on lefty outlets! DIABOLICAL!
Those searches took about three minutes. If Prager actually cared about determining whether their results are skewed, they’d at bare minimum have done the same comparison. I infer they don’t care whether there IS bias; they just know they’ll get attention by playing victim.
Honestly, the more interesting takeaway here is that a lot of people apparently spend time typing their hostile opinions into search bars.
Just for giggles... apparently we’re “liberal” (sort of, but not in the way the searcher probably means it...) and “wrong” and some folks wonder if we’re a “reliable source” (yes, thanks for asking). Oddly no “libertarian” or “think tank” or “staffed by attractive geniuses.”
(“Cato is...” gets results a little closer to what I expected. Though a couple of those are probably the clothing store. And still no “attractive geniuses” recs. Damn that bias!)
