I don't know why I'm even asking, but.... does Once Upon A Time In Hollywood deal with the fact that Charles Manson was a white supremacist who was explicitly hoping to start a race war, or....?
Like, he wasn't even just a regular white supremacist. He was a REALLY RACIST white supremacist. Like, racist for a white supremacist.

And it is amazing how much talk about Manson and his cult and their murders just completely skips over that.

(Note that Manson denied it at trial and after, but as part of a broader strategy of denying he had been involved in the murders at all.)
Hey, I asked a yes/no question. Every single Tarantino fanperson who is here to explain and defend the film to me is getting muted at a minimum.

There is an extremely limited range of situations where pointing out a spelling error on Twitter is necessary, useful, or kind.

You can't edit a tweet. If it's a typo it's not a question of knowing better. What are people supposed to do with this information?
I could make the case about how policing spelling on here intersects with classism, ableism, and assumptions of a cultural monolith, but instead I'll just invite you to ask yourself: what even is the utility of it? What does it help? What's the point?
And I'm going to mute this thread because these questions really are an exercise for the reader. I don't care about any answers people care about, even harder than I usually don't care.

Don't be a jerk.

So, I am testing a new wearable device, a "wearable" keyboard called (and I swear I am not making this up) a Tap Strap. It uses a somewhat idiosyncratic alphabet of tap-based gestures for input, which means you can't just use it out of the box. The included training app is good.
I got this device for potential accessibility uses, but so far it feels as though typing this way requires more mobility in the arm and wrist than just typing. It is also considerably slower.

Time will tell how much of that is inexperience.
The preceding two tweets were written (slowly and with much backspacing) entirely using the Tap Strap, but I'm switching to an actual keyboard because my shoulder and wrist are getting tired. Which is not a good sign, but again, maybe inexperience.

@adamgryu Short review: It's an exploration game. No fighting, no injury/death. New mechanics and new wrinkles to old ones are discovered as you go higher, but in a very organic way.

Lots of collectible/lost item quests, lots to discover. Some clever winks at the conventions of the genre.
@adamgryu Reminds me a lot of the sidequest aspects of games like Animal Crossing, Harvest Moon, etc. If you like those games but wish you could just be a kid and not have to be in charge of a house or farm or business, this might be up your alley.

So I saw ONCE UPON A TIME...IN HOLLYWOOD and it fucked me up on levels I was not aware that I had, and I am really struggling and emotional in my response to it. I don't normally write about myself when writing about movies. BUT. (MILDEST OF SPOILERS TO COME)
For the last two years I've been grappling with and mostly losing out to an overwhelming despair at my feelings of uselessness, and how time and talent I've squandered by doing nothing. I feel like I have one thing I do well (writing), and have really done nothing with it.
And from that has sprung an overwhelming need to feel useful, to feel my being here isn't just an accretion of days that blur together, but it's worth something. To hope that with the one limited skill I have, I can do something meaningful with it, and matter.
