So you want to learn how to go Live with OBS, let me help with that
Part 1
Go to YouTube Studio (Beta)
Part 2
Click "Other Features" -> Then go to "Live Events"
Part 3
Click "New Live Event"
Part 4
Put in your Title
Your Start Time
Description and Tags
Make sure Custom is selected
Then click "Create Event"
Part 5
Make sure "Single-Use Stream Key" is selected
Copy the Stream Name down for OBS
Part 6
Click "Live Control Room"
This is where you will monitor your live show
Open OBS (make sure OBS is set to meet your monitor settings)
I have dark mode on
Go to "settings" on OBS
Then go to "Stream"
Tale that "Stream Name" you got earlier and past it into
"Stream Key"
Click "Apply"
Click "OK"
Now that all that is set up you should be able to click "Start Stream" on OBS
Back on the YouTube Live Control room you can click "Preview"
After Clicking "Preview"
Start up the preview vid below, if it doesn't catch OBS refresh the window and start the video again till you see it, then you can pause it or put it on Mute so you don't hear an echo
Afterwards Press "Start Streaming" to go Live
Once you've hit "Start Streaming you're live
You can stop by hitting "stop Streaming" on the YouTube Control Panel and on OBS
While in OBS you can add a "Desktop Audio Source" by clicking the cog
And select "Mic" source by selecting that cog as well
Make sure you have the right ones selected, don't want fans hearing the wrong thing
The bar moving up and down means audio is captured
Alt-Click under Scenes to add a new Scene
Name the scene what you want
In The Sources section Let's select Something to Grab
Alt-Click here and select Add then Select the best source type for what you are getting
Game Capture for Games
Window Capture for a specific Window
sI usually prefer Window Capture since it works for most things even games
I selected Window Capture, you can name it what you want, as long as that window doesn't exist somewhere
Select the "Window" section
Then from the drop down pick the best thing to capture
Your window is capture press "OK"
"capture Cursor" is your mouse
From here you can resize and reshape windows as you need, but this is the basics of how to go Live using OBS
You will need to find a hangouts like area to talk to People, like OBS, Skype, or others but it is possible and OBS will handle the Live Streaming
Finally some programs have "Hardware Acceleration" you can search up online on how to turn it off with whatever program you are trying to capture through "Window Capture"
