One scripture that seems to be missing from the Bible of today's Christians is John 4:24
"God is a Spirit: & they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." it says.
It seems to me we are unaware of this scripture, or at worst we don't understand it...

To fully grasp it, let's read it from the beginning of chapter 4.
Jesus' disciples had gone off to buy food. He was sat by a well & a Samaritan woman came to fetch water from it.
He engaged her in a chat by asking for water to drink, which was against tradition in those days...
The conversation went on & she sensed he was a prophet.
"I can see you're a prophet!
OK.
Our fathers worshipped in this mountain, but you folks say it's only in Jerusalem true worship can take place!"
In other words, "You Jews don't have a monopoly of God!" she argued...
In those days, Israel was a nation with Jerusalem as capital.
People go to the temple in Jerusalem to worship God.
The nation later got divided into 2: Israel & Judah.
Samaria became the capital of Israel, Jerusalem the capital of Judah.
The temple remained in Jerusalem...
So people from Israel would still go to Jerusalem to worship God.
It became a problem.
The Israelites decided to create their own mode of worship that would not need them to go to the temple to worship God.
The Jews (the people of Judah) told them it was wrong to do that...
You can't change the system!
God insists the ONLY way to worship him is by physically going to the Temple in Jerusalem!
It was so bad, Jews & Samaritans stopped relating.
That was the religious tension in the air when Jesus (from Judah) met the woman (from Samaria) at the well...
Jesus told her, "believe me, a time is coming when you won't need to worship God in any mountain or temple"
(verse 21).
Jesus was telling her a new dispensation will soon come where all these religious things would be done away with, when the old gives way to the new...
He then said, "the time is coming when the true worshippers will worship God in spirit AND in truth. These are the kinda worshippers God is looking for".
Jesus said in the coming dispensation, the worship of God would not be limited to any geographical location or time...
The worship of God would not be limited to a building or space.
Worship would become dynamic.
Worship would not be a physical act.
Worship would not be judged based on what is seen or heard.
Worship would not be by following a set of religious rules, regulations & traditions...
Worship would be of the spirit, of the inner man.
Worship would be in spirit & truth, not in emotions & sentiments.
Worship would be free of religious codes, ethics & appearances.
Worship would be LIMITLESS.
When we truly understand this, we will change our mindsets & approach...
We will rid ourselves of the drama we go through in our churches these days.
We will just laugh at the nonsense organised religion calls "Christian Pilgrimage to Jerusalem".
We will laugh at the man on the stage in church who says, "Let us go into the presence of God"...
You know you're ALWAYS in God's presence, you don't "enter His presence" in church because you know that presence is not limited to a building or church space.
You don't see anywhere as "Holy Ground" because you know God is not more concentrated at some point more than others...
You don't practice New Testament Christianity with Old Testament mentality.
Jesus said, "the wind blows anyhow. You hear the sound, but you have no idea where it's coming from or where it's going.
That's how the person born of the spirit is: unpredictable!"
John 3:8...
It's just unfortunate today's template of Christianity has caged the average believer into a set of man-made rules, traditions & religious regulations which have no bearing on the reality of Christ.
Christians need to break away from that template! It's the WRONG template...!
I know churches where the leader insists pastors must be clean shaven.
I know churches where pastors must wear neck ties.
I know churches where women can't wear trousers & must cover their hair.
Their emphasis is on the physical. Jesus' emphasis is on the spirit & truth...
The Church of Christ is dynamic & living.
It is not a building with good acoustics, great lighting & seating arrangements, amazing PA system & snazzy pastors in Gucci suits.
The Church of Christ is not the organized religion that does charity works & broadcasts it...
It's not that organisation that pays medical bills or school fees for people, build classroom blocks or supply books for pupils & then make a video of it to post on social or any media.
The Church of Christ is a living thing that understands the mind of Jesus per time...
The Church of Christ knows "what the Spirit is saying to the churches".
The church of Christ is not a denomination or sect.
GOD IS A SPIRIT, people.
He is omnipotent.
He is omniscient.
We are ALWAYS in his presence.
He is not on a mountain or in a camp.
He is IN you.
When we truly understand this, we will all stop going from pillar to post looking for Him.
We will stop going from one camp to another, from Shiloh to Canaan to Holy Ghost service, from Mountain to Valley, from Hill to River, from Church to Church, Pastor to Bishop to Apostle....
Instead, we will develop our faith in Him, call upon Him in our closets, worshiping Him in Spirit & in Truth.
And now, I commend you to God, & to the Word of his grace, which is able to build you up, & to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
Acts 20:32
