"God is a Spirit: & they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth." it says.
It seems to me we are unaware of this scripture, or at worst we don't understand it...

Jesus' disciples had gone off to buy food. He was sat by a well & a Samaritan woman came to fetch water from it.
He engaged her in a chat by asking for water to drink, which was against tradition in those days...
"I can see you're a prophet!
OK.
Our fathers worshipped in this mountain, but you folks say it's only in Jerusalem true worship can take place!"
In other words, "You Jews don't have a monopoly of God!" she argued...
People go to the temple in Jerusalem to worship God.
The nation later got divided into 2: Israel & Judah.
Samaria became the capital of Israel, Jerusalem the capital of Judah.
The temple remained in Jerusalem...
It became a problem.
The Israelites decided to create their own mode of worship that would not need them to go to the temple to worship God.
The Jews (the people of Judah) told them it was wrong to do that...
God insists the ONLY way to worship him is by physically going to the Temple in Jerusalem!
It was so bad, Jews & Samaritans stopped relating.
That was the religious tension in the air when Jesus (from Judah) met the woman (from Samaria) at the well...
(verse 21).
Jesus was telling her a new dispensation will soon come where all these religious things would be done away with, when the old gives way to the new...
Jesus said in the coming dispensation, the worship of God would not be limited to any geographical location or time...
Worship would become dynamic.
Worship would not be a physical act.
Worship would not be judged based on what is seen or heard.
Worship would not be by following a set of religious rules, regulations & traditions...
Worship would be in spirit & truth, not in emotions & sentiments.
Worship would be free of religious codes, ethics & appearances.
Worship would be LIMITLESS.
When we truly understand this, we will change our mindsets & approach...
We will just laugh at the nonsense organised religion calls "Christian Pilgrimage to Jerusalem".
We will laugh at the man on the stage in church who says, "Let us go into the presence of God"...
You don't see anywhere as "Holy Ground" because you know God is not more concentrated at some point more than others...
Jesus said, "the wind blows anyhow. You hear the sound, but you have no idea where it's coming from or where it's going.
That's how the person born of the spirit is: unpredictable!"
John 3:8...
Christians need to break away from that template! It's the WRONG template...!
I know churches where pastors must wear neck ties.
I know churches where women can't wear trousers & must cover their hair.
Their emphasis is on the physical. Jesus' emphasis is on the spirit & truth...
It is not a building with good acoustics, great lighting & seating arrangements, amazing PA system & snazzy pastors in Gucci suits.
The Church of Christ is not the organized religion that does charity works & broadcasts it...
The Church of Christ is a living thing that understands the mind of Jesus per time...
The church of Christ is not a denomination or sect.
GOD IS A SPIRIT, people.
He is omnipotent.
He is omniscient.
We are ALWAYS in his presence.
He is not on a mountain or in a camp.
He is IN you.
We will stop going from one camp to another, from Shiloh to Canaan to Holy Ghost service, from Mountain to Valley, from Hill to River, from Church to Church, Pastor to Bishop to Apostle....
And now, I commend you to God, & to the Word of his grace, which is able to build you up, & to give you an inheritance among all them which are sanctified.
Acts 20:32
