Anyone claiming that private health insurance companies are approaching the healthcare debate with good faith and good intentions are either being fooled or being paid.
45 000 people die each year in America from lack of health insurance. That's 15x September 11th. Each death more preventable than the last. It's an emergency, but you wouldn't know it from watching cable news because all you'd see is private insurance ads.
Politicians repeating the lie that 71% of Americans "like their private health insurance" should be reminded that the poll was conducted by AHIP, the leading lobbyist for the for-profit insurance industry.
