Spending millions to get $1 donations to jack up donor numbers?
What is this? The Enron of campaign finance?

I am all for small dollar donations, but a small dollar donor is not someone who “donates” $1 to get a $30 T-shirt for free.
That being said if @SenGillibrand really wants this plan to work she should offer in exchange for that $1 donation a vintage @alfranken for Senate T-shirt, or at least a replica.

Unless @realDonaldTrump wants to comp hotel rooms, food, drinks, golf, entertainment and everything else, a G-7 meeting at a Trump resort is illegal under the emoluments clause of the constitution.

@NBCNews Anyone, Russian or American, who lies to buy ad space on Facebook or anywhere else commits fraud in a commercial transaction. Call it mail fraud, wire fraud, theft of honest services, or whatever. It's a crime.
Put them in the slammer.
@NBCNews If we can use mail and wire fraud statutes to put parents in jail for helping their kids lie to Yale or USC on a college application, we can put political operatives in jail for lying to Facebook to buy ad space. Russian or American, these people belong in the slammer.

Here's a brief rundown of how things work: h/t @TheLastRefuge2
1) DNC insiders (money people that you've never heard of) choose their nominee
2) A bunch of candidates join the race, some genuinely, others as part of the DNC plan
3) Candidates stake out special interest positions
4) Candidates collect voter support/data based on special interest positions
5) Debates are held, certain candidates are magnified, others ignored (this is coordinated with media)
6) Various candidates are highlighted over weeks and months (flavor of the month, again w/ media).
7) Primaries start and support is split among so many candidates
8) Candidates slowly drop out because they don't have money/support to continue
9) Drop out candidates turn over their voter data to the DNC (this is key)
