Thread: Dear @hmpbelmarsh

I have heard that Julian Assange is emaciated, isolated, not allowed to mingle with other inmates or workers passing by his single cell in the health wing, unable to work on defending himself legally and is in extremely rough shape. Please help.
I understand that the Prison warden / governor would want to punish other inmates for taking a video of Mr. Assange which was later posted online... but it is exacerbating the psychological torture and physical challenges he faces daily. He should not be punished for the video.
I am very grateful that someone took that video. As a member of the public, I am very angry at the British gov't that he is shut away in your prison to begin with. I am even more angry that he is hidden away in some corner of that foreboding, loud, overcrowded, decaying building.
He is being treated like a political prisoner who is not allowed to speak to the media, be seen or heard. If he were being treated "equally" as the other murderers, rapists and grave criminals in your facility, he would be allowed to fraternize, chat and interact with people.
He would have access to the library, computer, tv, legal documents, pen and paper, have more time outside his cell and have proper medical care. I understand that his spectacles were poorly done following an optician's prescription for his loss of sight.
The man has been cooped up for 8 years now. The breach of bail is such a minor infraction, it does not even qualify as being a "crime" so it does not make sense to me that he went directly from Ecuador's embassy to your facility. He's not a criminal.
Assange is a criminal *suspect* in the US, not the UK. He is a person who placed priority on preserving his life, freedom of expression and avoidance of US torture -- so he sought asylum at the embassy instead of fulfilling his bail conditions in June 2012. His instinct was right
From Dec. 7 2010 until June 19 2012 Mr.Assange dutifully fulfilled his bail conditions. He infracted them when he reached a tipping point of knowing he was about to be handed over to the United States with a stopover in Sweden or extended stay in Britain. He was right.
Mr. Assange was placed in Belmarsh before the details of the US indictment(s) were unsealed. Up until May 1 2019, Mr. Assange was thought to be delusional / paranoid about his fear of persecution / prosecution in the US. As it turned out, he was right. The US charges came after..
US charges came after the utterly disproportionate, insanely severe punishment was dealt by your British court -- he was still in shock (capture shock) following his illegal extraction from the embassy and a fresh victim of US theft of his belongings / paperwork / jump drives.
It is not @hmpbelmarsh 's job to mete out the judgement. It is your job to mete out the punishment which was handed down by your courts. In Mr. Assange's case, your courts got it wrong, but you still bear the responsibility of carrying out his disproportionate punishment.
You are under surveillance in all your activities and actions at the prison. Your duty to punish Mr. Assange is difficult. If you deviate from the directions you are given, it will show up on cameras, audio recordings and notes from informants.
That necessitates that you carry out orders to punish Mr. Assange with maximum cruelty, in a maximum security facility for a very minor infraction.

It eeks away at your humanity individually and as a group of staff / administrators.
It makes you less humane, less compassionate and to function outside your innate human nature. It forces you to become one type of person at work and another type of person at home or at leisure. It creates a disconnect. Or, you bring that manner of human interaction home w you.
If you become more stern at work, accept the injustice of Mr. Assange's situation, grow comfortable with his neglect and abuse, you become less human. It will affect your family life, marriage / love life, parenting and friendships.
You will have to merge your personas or keep them separate.
I am inviting you to merge your personas by bringing more compassion to the situation of Mr. Assange. You can find ways to acknowledge his humanity in small subtle ways that will make a big difference to him.
Why would you want to do this? To keep your humanity intact. Do not let your job erode your soul.
You have a difficult workplace. You interact with murderers, terrorists, rapists and pedophiles on a daily basis. Mr. Assange is none of those.
He is a human rights defender, geek, intellect, teacher and a person who is being crushed by formidable adversaries.
He works to create a safer society. World peace. Justice.

His work makes society better.
His work holds powerful politicians, corporations and people accountable for the suffering they inflict on others and the planet.
His work will make the world better for you, your children and future generations. He deserves your respect. Your support.
Even if your every move might be on camera or recorded by microphone.
Mr. Assange does not belong at Belmarsh. But that is where he is. Emaciated, stressed by the crushing forces against which he cannot defend himself.
Mr. Assange's work has exposed what your government is spending money on -- wars, spies and corruption, while your working conditions at Belmarsh deteriorate and "austerity" is the word of the day. It is like putting an anorexic on a diet.
You are not lawyers or judges nor am I. I am a Global Citizen who is extremely concerned about the well being of Mr. Assange. I am appealing to you to regard Mr. Assange as a human being who should not be neglected, abused or slowly assassinated behind the walls of your workplace
You alone cannot free Mr. Assange, but you can make his living more bearable.
Outside of your workplace, you are entitled to contact your Member of Parliament to voice your personal opinion about the situation which is hidden from us (the public) and the media. You have agency, independence and it is your right to speak up.
I am inviting you to bring harmony to the person you are both inside and outside of your workplace -- in favour of human rights, humanity, justice, truth, compassion and world peace. You are restricted at work, but not fully.
You may feel restricted outside of work, and well, therein lies the problem, yes?

We are all becoming more and more restricted in our daily lives. That is the fundamental problem that Wikileaks and Mr. Assange are working to change.

He wants more truth, justice + freedom.
So do I.

I want his work to continue. I want his life to continue. I am appealing to you to be kind to him in any way you can while remaining within the duties you are assigned.

If you disagree with the treatment Mr. Assange is receiving, there are ways to make that known
In the meantime, I wish you a peaceful shift at work. I hope that the community of criminals which you supervise is safe (and I am not being sarcastic). I hope your working conditions /prisoner conditions improve. I hope your gov't spends less money on wars and destruction.
I hope Mr. Assange gets his allotted times for visitors and legal sessions and that you can assist him and his legal team in that matter. I hope you are able to bring some conveyance of respect toward him and do so on my behalf as well as many other Global Citizens and colleagues
Mr. Assange is not a criminal. He is a criminal suspect awaiting extradition to a SuperPower nation across the ocean, facing a death sentence -- no matter the sentencing, it is too long, and too much for anyone to bear. 175 yrs is a death sentence. Even 40 yrs would be as well.
Good night @hmpbelmarsh
Peace. Strength. Courage and Truth to you.

Be your best self, even if you work among society's outcasts and those that endanger it.

Sincerely,
~jude
PS... I lost a bunch of my tweets while I was in Twitter limbo ... so forgive me if my thread of thoughts is disjointed or incomplete.

Happiness to you, despite your difficult job.

Afterthoughts (Aug 30)

Gina Haspel, now head of @CIA, is working with the UK gov't to orchestrate the worst possible existence for Mr. Assange within Belmarsh. She is a known torturer and sadist.

Please have mercy on Mr. Assange.
Update: @johnpilger reported that although Assange has been approved to call his parents from Belmarsh prison, administrators forbid him from doing so. Staff are prevented from letting him do it. He is not allowed to do what has been approved.
Important: I predicted that when Ecuador cut Assange off all communications with the outside world and restricted visitors, it signalled the beginning of an array of predictable behaviours designed to crush him further. That involved staff changes (replace real staff w CIA staff
Behind the scenes in Belmarsh, there is quite literally, a "changing of the guards" at Her Majesty's Prison. Normal employees are being replaced by a new Queen: Her Majesty Gina Haspel of the CIA, Queen of Torture.
New guards and staff have been trained in torture techniques. They are contracted out specifically for their torture skills. It happened in Ecuador's embassy and it is happening at Belmarsh.
Head office for Belmarsh is not the UK Home Office. It is CIA headquarters. Gina Haspel, Queen of Torture is the Ghost administrator overseeing Assange's unique experience of Hell.
The UK has acquiesced to the very same process that Ecuador did in order to eject Assange coercively out of his rightful asylum protection. The UK has surrendered it own Corrections / Prison process over to the United States who is operating behind the scenes.
Just as Ecuador hired a private / corporate "security firm" at the embassy, Belmarsh has a new roster of guards, cooks, cleaners etc. that work for private security firms. Spoiler for @hmpbelmarsh staff -- THEY ARE GETTING PAID 10 TIMES WHAT YOU ARE GETTING PAID.
The US is exercising transnational take-overs and coups all over the world. Queen Gina is orchestrating a coup of Belmarsh staff -- inserting thugs, torture-trained pseudo-psychologists and clinicians to increase Assange's suffering and torture. It undermines UK sovereignty.
New personnel are expertly trained to administer humiliation, neglect, closely observe Assange's reactions, torment him, possibly hypnotize him, deprive him of sleep and evoke startle responses. It would disrupt his eating, organ function and body chemistry to point of death.
This is not speculation. My comments above are based on years of research on the topics of Mobbing, Psychological Torture, no-touch torture and my understanding of Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) designed by psychologists for Gitmo and in China.
When the CIA gets involved, it makes it almost impossible to "verify" my comments above, because they have $Billions in budget and operate in the shadows, levering power and doing its Evil in secret. It's their Modus Operandi. (MO)
Also typical for a patients pain or anxiety medications are lost, discontinued, or just not administered to a patient or prisoner. It happened to me in a Quebec hospital when I had a panic attack, had my meds, but left with none of my protected-substance pills when discharged.
It's likely that Assange's pain meds are not being given to him regularly (to stay ahead of the pain), or are being withheld totally, w the targeted goal of putting him in withdrawl, then exacerbating withdrawl symptoms, and increasing his pain in a passive manner. (no beatings)
Further, the new staff (expensive security contractors /thugs) will amplify the terror Assange will feel in his cell. Other inmates will be coached to parade by his cell, glare at him, flash knives for him to see and security staff will be permissive of these threats.
New security staff will selectively enforce prison rules -- permit threatening behaviours toward Assange, suggest violence toward him, signal that they don't care what happens to him and he's fair game for pummeling / stabbing / violence.
When other prisoners display aggression, violence or threats against Assange, those prisoners will be rewarded by guards in various ways -- just like training police dogs. The dogs are trained to be aggressive toward certain targets and obedient to the guards/handlers in uniform.
Aggressive inmates will not be punished for disgusting acts against Assange -- urinating in his cell as they pass by, throwing feces at him, hurling insults in Arabic or foreign languages, flashing weapons etc. Those inmates will get better food, more time out of their cells.
If they harass Assange, they will not face consequences. The environment will be permissive and encouraging of such behaviours. Inmates who amplify such behaviours will have more freedom out of their cells to loiter around Assange's cell to abuse him more.
Normal Belmarsh staff would not permit such aggression or behaviours. But Gina's Thug Guards (overpaid Security firm contractors) are paid to do exactly what I have outlined above.
Even worse, if Assange gets feces flung in his face, the inmate that did it will claim Assange did it. The new guards will favour the lies of the abusive inmate and punish Assange. It is extreme head-games. Intense psychological torture.
Eventually all normal / original / non-security firm guards and staff will have no more contact with Assange and all interactions will be moderated through the new guards who are clinicians of Torture. And trained inmates.
The number of personnel in Assange's wing or cell area will increase. There will be a lot of people traffic and loitering around his cell so he never gets a moment of rest, pause, sleep or even the ability to eat. The number of staff elsewhere in the prison will decrease...
ie. normal Belmarsh staff will decrease or remain understaffed-- it reduces witnesses to the violence, aggression, unjustice, sporadic enforcement of prison rules for aggressive inmates and increases the risk of physical/psych attacks against Assange
It makes Assange more and more vulnerable to an attack that could murder him.
Short version: The US has penetrated Belmarsh. It is importing a Kill Team into Belmarsh.
Khashoggi was the victim of a crushing Saudi Arabian Kill Team.

Assange is the victim of a crushing US and UK allied forces Kill Team.

It. Is. Happening behind the walls of Belmarsh.
Predictably, if Assange remains alive, against all odds...

New protocols, rules, restrictions will be imposed on him, his lawyers and visitors in an arbitrary manner. Interference in his legal defense, visits, medical care.
Assange should not be in a maximum security jail to begin with.

My demand or hope is that supporters will get him moved to a minimum security facility. But then the private thug-guards would also have to move, or push out the normal UK guards.

MOVE ASSANGE TO A DIFFERENT JAIL
note: Assange's asylum at Ecuador's embassy became a small Gitmo /jail cell. Essentially he was transferred from Ecuador's prison directly to UK's maximum prison. Now US security team is penetrating the UK jail. He is being transferred into US handling prior to actual extradition
* IT IS TIME FOR AN AUSTRALIAN AMBASSADOR, DOCTOR, DIPLOMAT TO VISIT ASSANGE IN BELMARSH TO TAKE HIS TESTIMONY AND GET HIM OUT!****
@RedCrossAU , @HRW @MSF MUST DEMAND ACCESS TO ASSANGE
The United Nations General Assembly is coming up this September.

I hope a group of lawyers, judges, human rights defenders, doctors, former spies (intelligence agents) and human rights organizations can attend.
