@JSHeappey Hi. I live and work in your area. I also play music, we travel and play through Europe. It's not my job. It's a 'hobby'. We meet people and travel and learn a lot about life. We think it improves us as humans.
No one is making money. It's a reciprocal agreement. Euro bands come over here, UK bands go over there. We meet and share and build a splendid world. You have to have the foundations of culture to create a more joyful country, correct?
How is this going to work once No Deal happens? Will we still be allowed to do this? Will it become prohibitively expensive, or not allowed? I looked at the gov.uk website and can make neither head nor tail. We next travel in November so you can see why I ponder.
Will European bands at our level still be able to come over here and play? I see you've consistently voted against EU integration - theyworkforyou.com/mp/25438/james… - hence my interest.
I'm ancient (45) but my children have already been affected by EU finding being taken away (son no.1 is now not spending his 3rd year at Uni abroad because the money will not be there) and they now have a weird distrust of their grandparents (who all regret how they voted).
I ask all this genuinely. The thought that some MP's have made vast sums of cash yet avoid paying tax bothers me. I assume this can't be true, I don't believe what I read. You wouldn't vote to leave the EU just to make money, would you?
It seems odd that people with large sums of cash, and that are very comfortable, are making decisions that are crushing people not in the same cosy position. Anyhow, my main question is about little groups of music players travelling around.
Also - Why am I still awake at 11pm when I have to be up for a job that earns me a little over £350 a week in six hours time? Answer me please James. These are trying times. I know you voted to leave the EU. What's the plan?
Morning James! I'm up, no worries. Gonna assume you were grabbing some well earned beauty sleep. I forgot to say, I thought it was funny when you told that schoolgirl that she should go back to Scotland (but you used a swear). People just have to be told!
But to confirm, I await your response. The UK has been in the EU for 46 years now, all my life plus one year! What are all the people supposed to do who travel, doing things. Who have built a world doing it, created contacts, embraced the concept. Look forward to hearing back.
