Time for my weekly political geography/demographics quiz, Labor Day Edition:

Which 5 states have the highest rates of workers represented by unions? Which 5 states have the lowest?

I will award prize to whoever gets the most of the 10 right.

Answer in an hour. Scout's honor!
OK, time's up.
Here they are, according to BLS:

Top 5: HI, NY, WA, AK, RI
Bottom 5: SC, NC, AR, TX, VA

The winner, w/ 9 (!) is @mjgalasso. Bravo! Silver to @bushnellmike, bronze to @jakemcintyre

So, not one of top 5 states is in Midwest. Well done, Guvs Walker, Snyder, etc!

What a contrast to how Americans handle elementary education. In Germany, waiting longer to start, letting childhood last longer, but when school does start, demanding a lot of kids and telling parents to butt out. nytimes.com/2019/09/08/wor…

Many think labor unions are a relic of a bygone era, but labor unions are more relevant now than EVER before. First some history:
Labor Day came to existence during the heart of the industrial revolution in the late 1800’s. At that time, many Americans were working 12+ hours a day, 6 or 7 days a week for meager wages.
Working conditions were unsafe (no workers comp if you lost a finger) and factories often had little to no ventilation. Children as young as 5 worked mills, factories and mines for a fraction of the pay that adults made.

and here's some paine on private property in land from "agrarian justice." dude had nothing but fire.
this particular passage is a wind up for paine's proposed "national fund" which is basically a universal basic income, to be paid "as a compensation in part for the loss of his or her natural inheritance by the introduction of the system of landed property."

The Evidence Obtained Outside Cameras will not show any evidence of ‘tempering’ but other than license plates of dozens of diplomatic cars (Many with tinted windows-large trunks) with related time stamp, drivers Info, model/year: Nothing.
#Turkish Intel-Investigative Bodies also have the list of all Diplomatic & Private Saudi & “other significant’ Planes in #Turkey for the period of ‘interest.’ Many of the Target airports have their own security cameras & related evidence.
