@EU_Commission @NvOndarza A while back, I mused whether the push towards more gender parity in Commissioners might speed up nominations, as MS sought to make facts on the ground for their male nominations

@EU_Commission @NvOndarza Data doesn't suggest this has happened: marginal shortening of time to nomination this time, but only from 55 days to 52. MS split straight down the middle on being faster or slower than 2014

@EU_Commission @NvOndarza However, the standard deviation has shrunk a lot, from 50 days to 29.

This reflects the late nomination cluster in 2014 (and some very early choices ahead of the vote)

NB - UK reversal on non-nomination will change this again, although obviously a non-standard case
