.@IanAustinMP (now indepedent) is lacerating Jeremy Corbyn from the Labour benches just after several Conservative MPs (also now independents) lacerated Boris Johnson from the Tory benches.

This Parliament has completely fallen apart.
@IanAustinMP He and @LizMcInnes_MP are having a slanging match. Austin says he "was returned by the people of Dudley North to represent them"- "as a Labour representative!", McInnes shouts back.

As I’ve been saying for weeks, this is why Johnson’s strategy of resting his hopes on northern/midlands Labour leave voters is highly risky.

If only someone had tried it before, then we’d have a better idea of whether it might work...
Sometimes Tory commentators talk of these voters as if their behaviour is two dimensional: easy to convert en masse just because of Brexit, whilst apparently confident that their own historic voters are more sophisticated...
... always know what its in their interests and will stick with them no matter what. They’re relying on the stickiness of their own tribalism whilst assuming that of Labour’s (and by extension that generated against them) is flimsy. It’s odd.

UPDATE: I am getting some mega pushback from civil servants about how complete this information is. One source tells me: “this may be the doc that closely resembles leaked docs, but info in some areas resembles stuff from at least 12 months ago.”
Source continues: “one paragraph is something I was including in docs last Feb/Mar. Find it hard to believe no further updates. Also know that there was additional info underneath that para” which is omitted.
Sources in Gibraltar tell me: “these are definitely old papers re Gibraltar...we detect great nervousness in UK. Officials clear that the assumptions are not welcome by the current cabinet.”

For a start concedes, despite all the talk of “being ready”, that public and business readiness will be at a low level whatever the govt does.
Govt seems to concede the EU isn’t going to be nearly as badly effected as us. Talks of “small number of cases” where the EU will be negatively affected as us (in those areas, docs say, they might want to strike side deals)
Confirming my leaked dft docs story from last week, yellowhammer confirms severe impact of no deal at Dover.

-HGV traffic reduces to 40-60% of current levels
-could last for 3 months before getting to 50-50%
-could last “significantly longer”
-HGVs could face delay of 2 days

An intriguing thought:
Jeremy Corbyn may want to be World King (sorry, I just can't get over Boris Johnson's early description of his own ambitions) and hold a GE after that, but...
To become WK he needs 50%+1 of MPs
To get a GE under the FTPA he needs 66% of MPs.
One may be very difficult but possible, the other impossible. Why? Because why would Labour MPs vote for a GE *after* JC is in power? Their guy is WK. A GE puts that at risk. What's the incentive? And why would MPs from other parties risk a GE that could give BJ a majority?
They know remain is divided. If BJ can whip a frenzy of anger at the prospect of losing Brexit, he can sweep the BP vote.

And you can bet anything JC knows this. So he can be WK, try for an election, then when that fails he can say "oopsie, guess I'm your PM until 2022 then..."

1) If you think Brexit solution is [insert party name] you're almost certainly wrong.

2) If you think Brexit solution is to pull together likeminded MPs of *all* parties, you're almost certainly right.

Anyone who insists on 1) while standing in the way of 2) is a hindrance.
For instance, John McDonnell (Ruling out GNU): "I think we'd form a minority government, seek to implement our manifesto and we'd expect the other opposition parties and other MPs to vote for those policies and if they don't we'll go back to the country."

Labour might be able to reveal new plans for a renegotiated deal which it would put to a referendum, as Corbyn hinted over the weekend, sources suggest.
Breaking: Jeremy Corbyn announces that Labour will table or support an amendment in favour of a new Brexit referendum
Corbyn will tell the PLP meeting of Labour MPs tonight that the party will:

— enshrine Labour's alternative Brexit deal in an amendment
— support the Cooper-Letwin Article 50 amendment
— AND table/support an amendment facilitating a "public vote" to prevent a "Tory Brexit"

1. I don't really pay much attention to #Labour Twitter. It;s not really saying anything worth my time. The right of the party are all Blairite remainers who I've always hated since they embody the worst of left wing paternalism and snobbery. Thread...
2. The left of the party however, is a shitshow of hipster communists and gobby younglings who know fuck all about nine tenths of anything, pushing a socialist agenda they don't understand much less comprehend the implications of it.
3. Then as I understand it, their fondness for Brexit is based on some half understood notions about competition rules and state aid - but in actuality they couldn't give a toss about Brexit. They're just at war with the FBPE morons since they attack Corbyn. Purely tribal.
