@KinyanBoy There is a good legit reason why India is the headquarters of Medical Tourism attracting patients from both Europe & the US. Americans are dying daily not for lack of health facilities but because healthcare is too expensive. Do you understand Obamacare . There is a reason why..
@KinyanBoy 2/ Lowlife countries in East Africa & especially KENYA is the source of most patients. Are you a medical professional? Kenya is a lowlife country with highly qualified Drs but is equally among the most corrupt in Africa. Let's face it our healthcare system is broken kabisa.
@KinyanBoy 3/ We must address the nanzenz in this country.Good healthcare in Kenya is only accessible to the wealthy.Medical bills are among the top poverty causes in Kenya. Most Kenyans are one disease away from poverty. India carries the same procedures as Kenya at a fraction of the cost!
@KinyanBoy 4/ We should address ourselves to the right place. We have a rotten corrupt inept criminal government complemented by a similarly corrupt lowlife private (pirate) sector. Kenya doctors have little say in this hellhole of a country. It's the corrupt cartels that have a final say
@KinyanBoy You see #CBC that strange education animal by the incompetent GOK is the same lunacy bedevilling the healthsector . Mwalimu @wmnjoya has made a very compelling case. Every one wants to dip their hand in the cookie jar believing that healthcare is how billions are minted.
@KinyanBoy @wmnjoya The tragedy that is Kenya. I recall a few years ago a highly qualified Kenyan , a medical specialist, creme de l'creme being tossed around since his health insurer declined his treatment costs. A pioneer paediatrician in the country. He eventually succumbed .
The point being...
@KinyanBoy @wmnjoya In a failed system your professional calling cannot save you when you are the patient.Talking to many Kenyans from all walks is really heart wrenching .I have relatives stuck in European capitals, fearing to come back because those countries offer quality healthcare at nil cost.
@KinyanBoy @wmnjoya We must fix the healthcare & education system not for a select minority but for the entire nation. What happens to you fake middle class when you are retrenched from that job & you no longer have insurance cover ? Or worse still you are retired & no insurance dares touch you?
@KinyanBoy @wmnjoya Just got off a long phone call with one of my cousins, a paramedic in the US. Had a motor accident a few weeks ago. He got a few days medical leave . He is still in pain even after rigorous treatment & physiotherapy. It was a minor accident thankfully. Has engaged a lawyer.
@KinyanBoy @wmnjoya The tragedy is that he had to go back to work before healing sufficiently so as not to lose pay. And if you know the US system majority live hand to mouth. Your worst nightmare is a medical emergency that can bury you alive after extended leave without pay. Good health is life.
@KinyanBoy @wmnjoya If he is lucky to get compensation for injuries suffered & loss of income, the lawyers will take 30 % upfront .Such is the tragedy of capitalism. When healthcare becomes a product in the market place you have nothing but suffering for the 99% .
