The idea of taqiyya is used by bigots to recast banal dishonesty into a conspiracy, a doctrine to dominate non-Muslims.

Taqqiya itself is a fringe doctrine primarily of Shia Islam. It provides permission to deny ones faith in the face of persecution. It's extremely uncommon for Muslims to have ever even heard of the concept. /2

@SarahTheHaider Most #exMuslims are motivated by the truth (in addition to humanism) - after all we abandoned our deeply held beliefs because they didn't accord with reality.
