The Government's obvious Brexit incoherence and incompetence needs to be exposed. They want a Queens Speech or an election, contradictory. They want a deal but won't let Parliament debate Brexit, contradictory. Their Brexit ideas have been rejected repeatedly by the EU.
Whatever the way Brexit is going to get solved, it isn't going to be solved by this chaotic administration ducking and weaving from Parliamentary scrutiny, and then blaming Parliament for wanting to scrutinise.
As has been said many times, it is as if the Johnson administration has taken all the worst things the May government did, and decided to do them at double speed. Which means he's failed spectacularly within 2 months.
An election, a Queens Speech, a referendum are not actually going to solve the Brexit problem. Because the problem is a country split, and leaders too scared to be honest about realities (with huge knock on effects to the future of the UK)
I'll keep shouting into the wind on this but until we actually have a realistic dialogue on Brexit in Parliament and elsewhere we can't move on. Unfortunately I don't see it happening any time soon (but hon mention to @RoryStewartUK as one of the few who genuinely gets this)
@RoryStewartUK Rant over for the time being. Sadly I'm not sure it makes me feel a whole lot better to keep repeating this. But then I recall the words of a wise former Minister, when you get bored saying something somebody might finally be listening. /end
