Shopify Plus is Shopify's enterprise platform and brand for top brands

My learnings ahead of that:

1/ Even with Shopify brand behind them, Plus needed 100 logos to get most to see them as enterprise
@LorenPadelford @ShopifyPlus 2/ Most of the functionality for Plus was already there. Plus, in the beginning, was as much Product Marketing as Product. But they needed to break it out into its own offering, with its own team.

So you should do the same too, with your Enterprise edition + team
3/ Red Bull was their internal "hero logo" early to get everyone rallied around going enterprise. Red Bull was such a huge brand, it showed everyone they could do it. A company that was very SMB-focused before.

So when you get one of these -- it's your time to decide.
4/ In the enterprise / Plus, they do 1 year + after that, month-to-month contracts typically. If customers want to leave, they want them to do. They want customers for 100 years. No frack you contracts.

5/ They had the same features gaps in going enterprise many of us do, including a lack of hierarchies (typical when you start SMB) and lack of support for multi-org stores.

This kind stuff is a lot of work to add later. Key was having strong support from top, to go all in.
6/ Budget comes from CMO's budget more often than IT. Budgets are shifting around in the org chart. If you can leverage this, you can find budget where it doesn't exist before. Especially if your product isn't that expensive.
7/ Ecosystems win. The average Shopify Plus deployment includes multiple partner apps, sometimes more than 10. They don't need to fill all the product gaps when they have most vibrant partner ecosystem in B2B.
8/ Finally, + much more in our podcast -- "Cloud is a tidal wave." The change Shopify Plus is seeing in enterprise is far greater than most of us had seen 5 ys ago.

If you have a winner in Cloud / enterprise, keep the NPS super high. Incent word-of-mouth.
