1. So... tomorrow, Johnson’s big pitch - his ‘new deal, or no deal’ - expect to see full legal text of the offer at some point in the day - who knows where things will be in 24 hours time
2. From what we know now seems v unlikely EU will agree (and there will be lots of argument on here about what is possible or not)
3. But... decision in next few days is not on whether there is a deal or not, but whether the two sides reckon it’s worth sitting down to talk properly at all
4. On face of what we know now UK offer miles off what EU publicly willing to accept ... but whether they don’t want to talk at all is a very different question - might now actually be the crunch moment instead of the soggy crisp
