THIS. Exactly what the data in my thread that @blackwomenviews quotes reflects.
I've reported on this disparity all year. When Harris won the 1st debate and surged in the polls, Biden was given a media do-over, where he gave interviews trashing Harris--who got no time.
1/
CNN's prime time show with Chris Cuomo actually gave Biden two full hours on two separate nights during which Biden castigated Harris. In one of those hours, Biden's wife implied Harris was a liar. Additionally, Biden's team called Harris "slippery and slick."
2/
When I asked Cuomo's show if Harris & her husband would be given rebuttal time, I got no reply.
There is no question that these repeated attacks damaged Harris's polling nor that she was given no opportunity for equal time pushback. It's difficult to ignore the ramifications.

I've covered politics for 30yrs & the misogyny in media is even worse in 2019 than it was in 2016. There is no question Kirsten Gillibrand's candidacy was harmed by repeatedly centering media related to her on Al Franken. Or that Amy Klobuchar was impacted by the comb story.
4/
Hyper-focus on women candidates' perceived shortcomings whilst ignoring those of male candidates has thwarted those women's rise. Harris was treated in the beginning as if she were running for VP with the Biden team floating photos of her and the former VP.
5/
Biden's run has actually been plagued by major problems, but the MSM has treated him as if he were already the nominee from the outset, with TV shows even giving unprecedented air time to joint interviews with him and his wife. None of the women got that.
6/
What voters may not realize, but which @blackwomenviews aludes to in quoting my stats, is that media mention influences polling. There is no functional reason for Harris to have dropped in the polls other than the fact she can't get the same coverage as Biden or Bernie.
7/
Consider the media roll out for Beto versus Harris. Yet Harris was the rising star of this race. Her grilling of Sessions, Kavanaugh & Barr should have netted her a Vanity Fair cover as the 1st black woman candidate in a quarter century & only the third ever--but Beto got it.
8/
We cannot afford to ignore these disparities because they speak to the structural misogyny and racism that @HillaryClinton called out in 2016. If there isn't an equal playing field, voters don't get a fair reading of their choice. That fails us all.
