#QAnon #QAnonMateGate #MateGate. Does anyone else find this headline in The Guardian odd:

'Revealed: the QAnon conspiracy theorist who is friends with Australian PM Scott Morrison'

Except that the identity of the conspiracy theorist WAS NOT REVEALED! Should it?

True public interest investigative journalism usually reveals the name of the leading actor, ensuring, of course, you don't defame them. Perhaps The Guardian had some kind of deal with @burnedspy34 to elicit a response?

If you'd like to know the identities of the actors involved, other than the source whose identity was kept secret (no problem with that), I suggest you follow me on Twitter.
At michaelwest.com.au both Westy & I have undertaken numerous public interest investigations.

Westy's have often led to Senate Inquiries and Royal Commissions. One of mine have ended up in Hansard. Did we name the chief actor(s)? You bet. Hardly "public interest journalism" otherwise, is it?

Here's the thing, the identities of @burnedspy34 and son @jesse_onya_m8 have been in the public domain for months. Burn Notice (as Tim Stewart calls himself, perhaps after the TV series) and son, Jesse Stewart and the #QAnon community have been prolific on FB, Twitter & Instagram

A cursory search on advanced Google and Twitter delivered the following:

So we could not understand why Tim Stewart's name was withheld given defo wasn't an issue. I notice that many others on Twitter are also tippy-toeing around as well, afraid to mention his name. Why? Fact-based investigations are integral to our democracy. Why the silence?

Anyone like to comment? Have any of you seen a genuine "public interest" investigation where the main actor and subject of the piece was kept secret (other than w/blower/source). Just asking ...
