Fundamental Leave Fallacies Thread.

I've researched this with 100+ Leavers, as an archive for #FBPE and a reference point for myself.

Feel free to share/use as appropriate. It's divided into sections:

Sovereignty etc
So that I can add any missed or for future additions.
The "leavers are stupid" meme is unhelpful. The issue is misinformation & cognitive denial. It's easier to believe lies than difficult truths.

80% of our global trade comes or will come through EU. That includes non EU trade, it includes 30+ sectoral US FTa bilaterals. And emerging market deals.

We have gold standard FTAs everywhere.

In the EU we make rules. We supported 98.3% of EU rules because we set them

Outside we have no way to get EU agreements, no new trade deals, lose existing deals, and use EU trade bloc rules to trade.

#FBPE We're in the end game and are being pushed into face-saving moves by brexiters.

In the thread below I assert we can prove A50 is invalidated. I'm doubling down. We breached A50 in 2017 and we are not in the process.

Here's the case. In addition to the points in the thread, I've now been through all 180 leaflets from the 2016 referendum. Plus hours & hours of film.

While the single market is occasionally mentioned I find no reference to leaving Customs Union anywhere

I find the opposite. ⏬
It's therefore entirely possible that a voter would have concluded that an FTA deal would be the Brexit result in order to vote leave. We know this is true as it's already the basis for no-deal invalidity above

But I want now to dispute the Miller 1 objections coming at me.

There's a lot to get into here. Those who follow this handle know we've been in 2 major negotiations. EU and US.
That the EU had "won" was resolved with Bolton's visit last month

Now we must leave the EU while not leaving it and somehow leavers AND remainers must BOTH accept it
Obviously, BJ won't present it that way. You can't tell the country that Brexit is one thing for 3 years when it's something else and not continue the lie.

"Children can't come out with a gender identity at a young age!" False. Studies of child development show that children begin to understand sex and how it relates to gender as early as two years old. See a large, long-term study by @olsonista : theatlantic.com/science/archiv…
This is also true in my personal experience running peer-support groups with parents of trans & NB children and middle- and high school-aged trans & NB youth. While many kids come out during puberty or after, a growing number of children are coming out at young ages and PERSIST.

1/ [Data #Thread] *Klaxon for all those interested in potential Twitter manipulation*. Here I compare a large sample of pro and anti-Trump Twitter accounts. Sample A includes around 137,000 pro-Trump Twitter accounts, and sample B, 65,000 anti-Trump accounts #disinformation
2/ Both Samples involved downloading Twitter accounts based on data from their Twitter bios. Pro-Trump accounts were selected if the contained terms such as #MAGA, #KAG #WWG1WGA #AmericaFirst (and similar). Anti-Trump accounts were chosen to see if they contained #Resist
3/ #DumpTrump #ImpeachTrump etc. While obviously not exhaustive, the sample is large. The first obvious potential finding is that there are clearly more overtly pro-Trump Twitter accounts in terms of biographical detail. Interesting when you consider that he lost the popular vote

I recently dreamed that one of my colleagues was wrongfully accused of murder, and because of the trial, could not teach their fall class. I feel like an "oh god I have to solve a murder so I don't have to teach an extra class" anxiety dream is like next level #academiclife.
