Right! I've finally had a chance to watch the forum from last night and I've put together some key points so bare with me whilst I put a thread together. I'm simply stating what was said, anything in brackets is my opinion/comment on what was said #oafc
All board members were present, including someone called Shaheed, pardon the spelling. He was described bas "finance director" (there is no mention of his name on company house or club website so I don't know if he is an actual director or simply an advisor) #oafc
An initial comment was made by Barry Owen, who admitted the club had made mistakes and needed to be more transparent (which is interesting, as the fans forum video has now been taken down from YT - which feels like they've shot themselves in the foot) #oafc
First question asked was regarding pensions. Shaheed said he was brought in to look at this. There were some technical issues in compiling who owed what. Was stated the issues should be resolved and pensions regulators were kept in the loop. Fine given for late issue only #oafc
Issue of high staff turnover then addressed. Primarily, AL wanted own guys
It was suggested some former staff were trying it on a bit (it's strange that has only started in the last few months...) and were all dealt with legally.
Morrallee said some paid off to save money #oafc
Barry's position was questioned several times. He's been kept along has he knows the historical issues at the club etc.
AL (to paraphrase) said he's bought the club -for significant money - and can appoint who he wants.
Later asked why BO isn't suspended... #oafc
...pending investigation and Morallee said there's no need as BO isn't involved in the investigation into the transfer of the stand from club to Brassbank (despite BO earlier saying he was present at a council meeting discussing this) #oafc
On finances: AL claims to put in £200k pm and Shaheed questioned at the start why he'd buy this club as it's financially a terrible idea. AL said "because I like the club".
Morallee said the deficit was huge and AL was putting "ludicrous" funds in prior to takeover #oafc
Barry then stated that the club had been running close to insolvency and AL could (maybe, financially speaking, should) have put the club into administration but instead has taken on large debts and has/is in the process of paying them off #oafc
On the JR Stand: Morallee suggested some details were hidden during due diligence - a note in the forms, according to him, said the stand shouldn't have been sold until the council gave consent. This was a condition of £"millions" worth of grants #oafc
There is an investigation (as mentioned earlier) into the transfer of the stand to Brassbank. Morallee believes the club has seen no real benefit from when it signed a "deed of surrender" in 2014 (though later said the club received debt relief) #oafc
There is still no agreement for use of boxes in the OEC. Morallee claims the club have tried to negotiate but that the deals are not financially suitable (the OEC very much dispute this) #oafc
There was then a short pie and pint break and then the floor was opened up for questions. Further comment made on OEC: the club would have received £20k pa from proposed deal. The club has sent OEC an invoice of £51k and will later increase by £60k for bills....#oafc
...there will be no discussion until this is settled (which makes me question why they said they'd been negotiating with OEC earlier) #oafc
Mo's position was called into question:
AL said he trusts his brother and wanted him involved.
Mo reckons he's done a decent job.
Dino said he likes working with a Sporting Director and gets on well with Mo
Decisions ultimately made by the head coach, in the words of AL #oafc
Dino eventually got a say on things. He wants to move the club forward, he thinks Mo and AL are passionate and will take the club forward and doesn't see them as having an "agenda". Calls for fans to come together. He's unhappy with some parts of the squad - issue for Jan #oafc
On Peter Clarke:
In a nutshell, it was decided he was too old and on a high wage. AL (and presumably Mo) took the decision to get rid. Pete Wild (then manager) wasn't consulted.
On Nepo: left because he was rude to the manager. Decision made 2 weeks before LB left #oafc
Giles Coke is still at the club. AL wants rid as he's on big money. Bunn pushed for a 2 year deal and they soon realised he's no good #oafc
A question then raised about who is involved in ownership of shares. Barry Owen confirmed clearly that AL owns 97% of the shares - these are A shares (which give voting rights) and the Trust owns 3% in B shares (non-voting) #oafc
Think that was all the key points. Sorry for the long thread 😂#oafc
