Mr. Engel said the United States should consider trying to kick Turkey out of NATO, calling President Recep Tayyip Erdogan “a bad guy.”

“I think it’s something that needs to be considered,” he said. “How do you have a NATO ally who’s in cahoots with the Russians?”
What started off as an incursion against the Kurds has now become the question of Turkish membership in NATO.
It was inevitable that a crisis would come. The US kicked Turkey out of the F35 program last July.

If what Hillary says is true the Russians have run rings round the intel agencies for years. They've planted moles so high up they can run for president. In both parties. One of them could beat her. While Obama was in office.

The state of the Dem presidential lineup suggests they have not yet recovered from Hillary's defeat. She proved the old model bankrupt and the vacuum hasn't been filled yet. The outrage of the last 3 years is smoke covering an ongoing redeployment.
Trump's incumbency, as Romneys statements occasionally remind us, masks the fact that the Republicans are similarly directionless. When the Donald goes as he eventually must, the question becomes : what does everyone do for an encore?
A lot of our anxiety stems from the fact that we've lost one consensus model of politics without finding another. We wait with bated breath for history to give us a new script but maybe none will come and we must make up the words as we go along.

Leave a couple dozen nuclear weapons in Turkey where things are going to shit alliance wise...

...or pull them out, deal with vulnerability during transport, & admit that Turkey is not our friend.
