its worth noting that past presidents of both parties understood that alliances like nato were about not only about securing europe, who are our allies, but that THE TWO BIGGEST WARS IN HUMAN HISTORY sprung from european-based conflicts that dragged in america and cost us lives
nato, etc is not just about effete globalists liking to do whats fashionable, its also about keeping a region of the world stable so it doesnt boil over and draw in the rest of the world. including us!
i know this is BLINDINGLY OBVIOUS but on a day like this i feel like it has to be screamed
nato, the un, etc. is not perfect, but id prefer brain-breaking diplomatic bureaucracy over WORLD WAR.
and yes, if it means shoveling billions to europe and dealing with some pompous-ass european lawmaker ill take that bet over this any day
