The Government has published the legal position on its new deal as part of its bid to win over Eurosceptic MPs

It makes clear that the EU does not 'possess a veto over the right of members of the NI assembly to withhold consent to the continued applications of those provisions'
No 10 making crystal clear to backbenchers that this is not Theresa May's deal and the UK will not be trapped in backstop

'There are no grounds for supposing the EU would have any legal basis to assert A5 to 10 of the Protocol should continue to apply absent that consent'
Lastly the key bit: 'This has been endorsed by the Attorney General'

Geoffrey Cox is on board

BUT for some Spartans the exit mechanism is not the issue.

They are more worried about loss of sovereignty during transition & how we get out of it and onto a free trade agreement
