A new colleague just stopped by my desk to inquire about these awesome signs @postguild made for the #equalpay campaign and what men like him could do to help. I was so taken aback I just stared at him for a minute.

No man has EVER asked me that. EVER.
Being aware of the challenges women and people of color face when it comes to #equalpay is a huge first step. But if you want to be as awesome as @EricMGarcia and need some advice, here’s mine:
1 - Share your salary! Being transparent with your own salary can really help women know where they fall on the pay scale. And including extra details, like previous experience, advance degrees, years in the company, etc., help us to calculate our own salary.
2 - If you’re a manager, look at your team and advocate for the people who are being paid less than they should...
2 (con't) Be transparent with them when you know there is a problem and that you are working to fix it. We’re adults who live in the real world and know that major institutional problems aren’t fixed overnight. But we want to know that you know…and so we can hold you accountable
3 - Money isn’t everything. Make sure opportunities for advancements are offered equally to your team.
4 - When you see women being interrupted or demeaned – speak up in the room!
P.S. I’m not an expert by any means, these are just my opinions.
