[Thread] 1/ To add to some of the previous analysis on suspicious activity on the hashtag "Nasrallah has our trust", I can confirm that there is what looks like clear inauthentic activity. I analysed around 19,000 Twitter posts #LebaneseRevolution @joeyayoub @AbirGhattas
@joeyayoub @AbirGhattas 2/ For some basic description: Around 77% of the sample were retweets, with around 21% being regular tweets. the trend really kicked in at 8.30pm UTC time. You can see the clear leap in activity at that time. Not always unusual on Twitter, but in this context probably 
@joeyayoub @AbirGhattas 3/ But most tellingly, we can see that 306 Twitter accounts were set up in October 2019. This is compared to the average number of Twitter accounts set up in the sample, which is only 32 per month. 108 of these accounts were set up in one day (20th October). The total sample
4/ size was around 4,400 unique Twitter accounts. That means 7% of accounts on the hashtag in the sample were set up in October 2019 - bear in mind creation dates in the sample go back to 2007. 2% of accounts were created on one day alone (yesterday).
5/ So yes, in short, as a quick overview, the trend appears to be generated in part by inorganic activity designed to promote and lionize Nasrallah. I'll let the Lebanon political analysts wonder about the meaning of that. - Fin
