Here's another thread containing troll replies from anti-EU fake/sockpuppet accounts. Many of these troll accounts have retweeted and posted almost identical content, and are trolling many other pro-EU threads.

PSA: if you see accounts with large numbers (multiple thousands) of followers roughly equal to numbers of accounts following them, these accounts belong to follow-back rings.
Follow-back rings are largely comprised of fake accounts and are echo chambers designed to amplify content via mass retweets.
The people participating in these follow-back rings consider social media a "game" and put effort into "levelling up" new accounts.
Fake accounts are often suspended or banned by Twitter for violating Terms of Service. When this happens, their owners create new accounts and their friends help them "level up" by following them and retweeting them.
Follow-back rings exist merely to fabricate support for specific political or social agenda. Some of them are organised offline, on platforms such as 4-chan, Discord, etc.
This explains why, when you look at the timelines of accounts trolling an otherwise civil conversation, you'll find almost exactly the same looking timelines, down to the same posts and retweets.
Often these accounts include profile images of animals, flags, countryside, TV personalities, or stuff that isn't the owner's actual picture. Sometimes they use thispersondoesntexist.com images or images stolen from other social media (which can sometimes be reverse searched).
Typical bios include stuff like "father of 2, supports football team x, love Europe, hate the EU" or similar. There's a definite pattern present. I create a generator for such profiles here:
In many cases, these accounts are responsible for publishing an incredible number of tweets. This can sometimes be due to automation. The accounts are "cyborg" - some of the activity is conducted by a human, the rest is automated.
