I just discovered a favorite pub has a happy hour.
Hold all calls.
Way back when my then-wife was pregnant with our son, she was rushed to the hospital with what turned out to be kidney stones.
I stayed until the hospital kicked me out and showed up at this pub on the way home at 1:30 in the morning.
The person at the door said “Sorry, mate. We already called last call.”
I said “I’ve been at the hospital all night...”
They let me in and drew me a pint.
That’s something you don’t forget.
Customer for life.
Exhaled for the first time after a day I had spent worrying about my wife, worrying about our baby.
Breathed in for the first time.
Fifteen minutes of being around other people.
One beer.
Customer for life.
