Johanna Boal is the Lab candidate in the forthcoming general election for the Beverley & Calderness constituency

Johanna Boal is a librarian and describes herself as a Socialist.

Johanna has not posted anything on social media about Labour’s antisemitism crisis. Nothing at all. No comment. Zero.
Which makes her pretty standard for a Labour candidate.

But Johanna has posted on Israel. Not many times, but a bit.Twice as far as I can see.

So what makes Johanna worth posting about here?

Well, let’s look at those 2 tweets from her on Israel.

The first is supporting and linking to the BDS movement - to a page which demonizes Israel as equivalent to apartheid South Africa. Standard fare for the Left but inaccurate.

So, nothing special there - just the usual Labour obsession mixed with ignorance and an easy slogan or 2.

The next is more interesting as it’s a link to Ruptly - a well known fake news channel owned and operated by the Russian state controlled RT.

This is where - if you live in this area of Yorkshire - your @UKLabour candidate turns to for news about current events.

So much for Johanna Boal. Let’s now turn to her husband Richard. Who happens to be vice-Chair of Beverley Labour Party.

Richard Boal beats Johanna in that he has actually tweeted about the antisemitism crisis affecting British Jews and emanating from the Labour Party.

But -predictably - not to show solidarity with a minority suffering abuse and exclusion. No - Richard had this to say.

“Mustn’t give them any excuse” is not exactly the anti-racist cry to arms that it could be, is it?
And Richard immediately goes on to make the entirely false and dismissive connection between British Jews suffering antisemitism and shutting down “criticism of Israel”

So much for RichardBoal’s solidarity with British Jews.

So, let’s turn to Richard’s tweets on Israel.

The usual stuff - Israel uniquely being racist and an article defending local council’s right to impose boycotts on the world’s only Jewish state. Nothing new there.

Except, Richard - vice-Chair if Beverley Labour Party and husband of a Labour parliamentary candidate - has tweeted a link to an article by a man who has been described as a conspiracy theorist with alleged antisemitic patterns of thought.

The tweet links to Craig Murray’s blog site and calls on readers to petition their MP over allegations that the first and only Jewish British Ambassador to Israel was in fact working for the interests of.....you guessed it. Israel.

So a British Jew is accused of the dual loyalty trope and guess who appears at the center of this story?
Paul Flynn - notoriously antisemitic MP.
And - you’ve guessed it: Jeremy Corbyn.
That’s Corbyn alongside Craig Murray & Paul Flynn obsessively trying to hunt a “disloyal Jew”.

And almost in one tweet we can see the threads of the disease at the heart of @UKLabour drawing the fabric of conspiracy theories and anti-Jewish racism together.
All this visible- if you pay attention to the detail and context - in a tweet from the Vice-Chair of Beverley Lab...

..who just happens to be the husband of the Labour candidate for the Beverley and Holderness constituency in next month’s General Election.

If you see no problem here then I can’t help you.
