A true centrist Remainer might not vote for a Corbyn-led majority govt, but sure as hell votes for a hung Parliament in the shitshow that is UK politics in 2019
And if you haven’t figured out yet that FPTP is at the heart of all our political problems, and requires tactical voting in most cases to *avoid the worst* with little prospect of securing the best, then don’t pontificate about national politics. You’re welcome
Also, if you voted Remain in 2016 but now are willing to accept Brexit, in my book it is imprecise and misleading to call yourself a “Remainer” as I explain at inordinate length in this thread

(NB: The reason so-called ‘Guido Fawkes’ is opposed to ppl like Ash Sarkar & Aaron Bastani being given a platform on TV isn’t that they are demagogic zealots who argue in bad faith (they are). It’s that they belong to ‘the wrong tribe’ and favour redistributive politics)
(I know this because so-called ‘Guido Fawkes’ is far less vocal about demagogic zealots and purveyors of disinformation who argue in bad faith if they happen to belong to his particular Brexit tribe and if they don’t favour redistribution)

Given the state of the polls, the main hope I’m clinging to is that a lot of Tory support beyond their core vote could prove quite soft in terms of translating into turnout, whereas those driven by a wish to get the Tories out or tie their hands will be highly motivated. (1/3)
On the other hand, a lot of the coverage in the pro-Tory, pro-Brexit media has been about creating a feeling of inevitability around a Tory landslide, presumably to demoralise opponents, sap our will to fight and thereby to suppress our turnout. (2/3)
Conclusion: keep fighting, don’t give up, turn out to vote, persuade others to do so, and use your vote intelligently (ie vote tactically to deny that vile narcissist a majority). (3/3)

Why are Labour not getting as much shit about Richmond Park as the LibDems are getting about Canterbury?
I agree that appointing a candidate after Tim Walker stood down is a wankish thing to do. But even before he stood down, Labour weren’t getting even a small fraction of the relentless grief for splitting the Remain vote in Richmond Park as the LibDems were getting for Canterbury
Hypothesis: anti-LibDem onslaught being amplified by tribalists (to maintain Labour as incumbent beneficiaries of two-party politics under FPTP) who have identified this as a wedge that will split off voters whose priority is anti-Brexit but who don’t have strong party loyalty

Labour politicians and partisan, assuming they can do basic arithmetic, know just as well as everyone else that without the votes of former Con and Lab independent MPs there is no majority for a govt of national unity. And they know such inds will never back Corbyn.
So why are they trying to spin the yarn that only selfish LDs stand in the way of a Corbyn govt averting no deal, which they must know is false? For the same reason that LDs themselves insist Corbyn is unacceptable: they see an electoral interest in doing so
