Given the state of the polls, the main hope I’m clinging to is that a lot of Tory support beyond their core vote could prove quite soft in terms of translating into turnout, whereas those driven by a wish to get the Tories out or tie their hands will be highly motivated. (1/3)
On the other hand, a lot of the coverage in the pro-Tory, pro-Brexit media has been about creating a feeling of inevitability around a Tory landslide, presumably to demoralise opponents, sap our will to fight and thereby to suppress our turnout. (2/3)
