Listen, Pete has my vote. Thats not gna change bc imo he’s the most strategically sound choice to beat Trump, he can help unify us & he has systemic plans to uplift vulnerable communities and get us results. He has bold ideas, skill, heart, exp of being an other & I trust him. 1/

I started to take Pete seriously when I saw a Black woman in South Bend vouch for him and say it was his housing program that helped her pay closing costs on her first home, she wouldnt hv become a homeowner w/o her mayor’s help. That story was powerful! As a Blk woman & first 2/

time homeowner myself, her story spoke to me. I started follown her & her sister, & learned abt work Pete did w/comms of color in SB (comm policing, civilian oversight, youth programs, justice task force) to earn trust & revive his dying city n2 a place they are proud of again 3/

I saw these brilliant Black women go hard for their Mayor Pete. Refuting hit pieces, giving us facts abt SB. They never said Pete was perfect but they love their mayor& show it. Their mamas, aunties, uncles, comm leaders love Pete too. Their pride for Pete helped me trust him. 4/

I researched Pete. Read his book. Listened to his tv& podcast interviews. Learned abt how he built trust w/comms of color, integrated & advocates for immigrants, revived his city. It matched what these women were saying abt him & was a testament to how he’d govern our country. 5/

It was these Blk women in SB who shared personal stories abt Pete, told us media was silencing them & not telling the full story abt how Pete showed up to hold their pain when Eric Logan was killed, even tho it meant facing their anger bc SB is his home and his community too. 6/

These Black women showed me & many of us on #TeamPete the pride, pain (we intruded us on as a nation) & progress of SB, & the leadership & heart of their Mayor @PeteButtigieg. They sold me on what Pete can do for our country. We should be hearing their voices in his campaign. 7/

MSM is telling its own story abt Pete’s relationship w/Blk ppl. Let the Blk women in South Bend who know Pete best tell us abt him. They are powerful surrogates! Amplify their voices.They convinced me Pete is the real deal, an ally I can trust. They‘ll help others see that too. 8

S/O @GoodGuyPete2020 too & SBenders who helped us get to know @PeteButtigieg and trust him. Surrogates from Pete’s hometown would be the most effective ppl to squash BS & inform voters (POC) abt Pete and what he stands for. I hope the campaign highlights yall more.
