Monday turned into an 18hr work day, so I haven't been on here. But I just deleted a tweet from Monday morning applauding @KamalaHarris on her MH plan after reading a long thread by @mattbc, who is a brilliant #disability rights attorney who has helped many disabled folks.

I almost never delete tweets, but after reading Matt's carefully deconstructed explanation of the problems with Harris's mental health plan, I was frankly appalled and could no longer support it nor applaud it. There is just too much dangerous about it that could be harmful.

Americans need mental health programs and therapists. What is not needed is more incarceration of mentally ill people in lieu of care. And having just done a massive investigation into this issue, I can tell you, this is what America is doing and it is shameful and awful.

I hope that Harris will revise her much-needed plan. I hope that other candidates will get serious about #disability and mental health issues.
