The Tory manifesto contains a clause that they're going to confiscate the property and vehicles of Roma and traveller communities.

They already made a change in 2016 that meant anyone from a GRT community who stayed static for three months could no longer define themselves as such and to enable councils to reduce the number of legal sites.

Also seems likely these powers would be used by local authories and police to evict homeless people sleeping in tents. There's been a huge increase in evictions the past few years already.

One thing that's missing in some of the responses to this is that the manifesto pledge is to an extent promising powers that police and councils can use already. To a large extent this is reiterating an existing commitment to repression as much as ramping it up.
