My view on divorce for abuse:
Marriage is a covenant, the terms of which are the vows. Habitual, unrepentant, violation of those vows destroys the covenant and entitles the wronged spouse to divorce, though does not require it.

I'm glad Wayne Grudem has changed his mind but his change of mind doesn't go far enough.
I think Grudem is still in the Pharisaic mindset where clergy lord it over the sheep...and men lord it over women.
He thinks the Son is eternally subordinate to the Father. That's heresy.

I recommend with a caveat—read thread to understand my caveat.
Tiffany talks about God and urges people to 'connect with your spirit' but I don't hear her saying "you must be born again". Nor do I hear her saying that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, and no one comes to the Father except through Jesus.
So her 'gospel' and the hope she offers seems to me to fall short of the whole counsel of God in the Word (the Bible).

(I hope I have not misunderstood what she is saying)

#pleaseread Thread: Couldn’t understand why I could not sleep. I then realise that it’s four years ago to the very night that I hit my lowest point. I was in despair, borderline suicidal with no idea what to do or where to go. All because of an abusive relationship.
I was with my bully of an ex. He showed such narcissism that led me to believe that absolutely everything was my fault. I was never good enough. I’d been bullied so much that I’d lost over 20kgs in stress and fear in just over 12 months. I’d become a crumbling wreck.
He told me this night he debated leaving me as he didn’t find me sexy. I was ugly. That I didn’t do it for him anymore, and I believed it was all me. I wasn’t good enough. I was frozen. He still wanted sex but then berated me when I couldn’t do it. Too scared. Leaving me in tears

One reason we have denominations - SBC, PCA, UMC, etc - is so you can find a church most closely adhering to your understanding of Scripture. Joining a church you disagree with on a major doctrinal issue and expecting them to change is goofy. #ChurchToo #MeToo

Since the @HoustonChron published their distrubing article documenting abuse in the #SBC, I've seen quite a number of people trying to say that "If the SBC had women pastors this would not happen." As a survivor (#MeToo #ChurchToo) I find this extremely insulting. Here's why:
1. Taking advantage of a tragedy in order to push a social or political agenda is tacky. You want female pastors? That's fine. But you chould join a church that ordains women. However, when you join that church, don't be shocked when you find abuse there too. It's everywhere.

If you want more feminists in the world, this advice actually isn't terrible. Having my first baby (while married & unemployed) was my radicalizing event. It was at that point I realized that my wider society wasn't interested in supporting me. So....🤔 A screenshot of a tweet from @PipesAreCallin, wherein they advise me to stop working, get married, have babies, and stay in the house to be more happy, ending with a clumsy insult about how men wouldn't be interested in marrying me.
Replies like this are fascinating. First there's the naked statement of what they actually want (in this case, to not see any women in their timeline), & then the clumsy & transparent attempt to feign solidarity. They seem to imagine that I think all men are stoopid (sic).🤣 A screenshot of a tweet from @skoolis4suckers, wherein they say that WELL ACTUALLY, we need men to tweet twice as much today (which is what they actually want), and then wrapping up with a clumsy and transparent attempt to claim solidarity with women. Nice try, I guess?
