Reporters at both the Times and Post love to write The Definitive Story of the Campaign. It is the path to lucrative tv bookings and book deals. The problem is not a single person has yet to vote in this election. Not one vote. The story has barely begun.
Every four years there's this gold rush for this journalistic prize. It would be like writing the entire history of WW2 the day after Hitler became chancellor. You end up missing some stuff, including the ending you might not see coming.
