This is 9 minute of powerful brilliance.
When she speaks about American democracy she also could be speaking of ours

Where are our equivalent voices?

Where are they?

We’re in the midst of another GE beset by concealment, by terrible lies, gross negligence.

What are we doing?
It seems we are celebrating holding our noses and voting for parties and MPs that have failed us.

That, in some very important ways no no represent our values.

No doubt we will complain when those parties claim our votes as a mandate to go far beyond what we wish.
What is the state of our political life when “a lesser of two evils” is the best we hope for?

Hardly any wonder so many of us regard this election as joyless-without conviction.

Many feeling bullied into voting one way or another.

How do we recover from the damage to democracy
*do not* not “no no”
It isn’t simply the damage to our democracy.

The damage is personal. To our spirit. Our trust in the world and our communities and institutions.

To the very heart of us.

That should have been given the highest priority, not treated as a price worth paying.
@NickCohen4 has something to say about out current state of affairs

We are making choices driven by fear to overcome loathing and disgust.

I say this to you with all the power of my soul.

It is rotten to the core way to try and derive good in politics
Fear of one side drives voters into the arms of the other however much it disgusts them.

This is sold a “good”

First Johnson
Despite ALL the evident harm, and knowledge of his untrustworthiness and lies, fear of Corbyn drives many to vote for Johnson.

But did Labour listen to the warnings?

No. And it is responsible for that.
There maybe AS in the Labour Party that has driven out MPs, members of staff and members, but there is Islamaphobia in the Tory Party equally as rife.

So we should vote Lib Dem or Green?

Oh no! Not that.

Just put up and shut up. Give us your vote.
So when people “hold their noses” and vote then don’t like the outcome will they take responsibility for that?

Their contribution.

Or will they shuffle and point and say “But the system. The system”.
“People wonder why the Liberal Democrats, independent ex-Conservatives, Welsh nationalists and Greens are not doing better. The best way to limit the damage Johnson or Corbyn can cause is to get as many of them into Parliament, is it not?”

Oh.
The evidence seems to be that TV sites are certainly shifting the votes.

But is it in the way they foresaw?

Is it in the way most beneficial to Remain?

Not the way it is looking right now.
