This decision will enable countries affected by #Ebola outbreaks to have fast access to currently licensed Ebola vaccine and future licensed Ebola vaccines.
WHO supported this process by providing technical inputs, seeking policy recommendations from Strategic Advisory Group of Experts on Immunization, estimating global vaccine demand, and mechanism for fair and equitable access to this and other #Ebola vaccines.
The injectable #Ebola vaccine, Ervebo, has been shown to be effective in protecting people from the Ebola Zaire virus and is recommended by the WHO Strategic Advisory Group of Experts (SAGE) for vaccines as part of a broader set of Ebola response tools. bit.ly/2Lnbpsp
Earlier this year, the RTS,S #malaria vaccine was introduced in Ghana, Malawi and Kenya, as pilot programme designed to generate evidence and experience to inform WHO policy recommendations on broader use of the vaccine. bit.ly/2kkJ4bS
