Sam is too polite. This is another dreadful and unrealistic article. You can just start with the paragraph below - if the EU need to understand the UK regulatory system for a trade deal they can't - because we don't know what it will be yet brexitcentral.com/dont-believe-t… 
You can start with the ambition of a tariff and quota free deal but that doesn't mean on day one that's where the negotiation starts. And if the UK tariff are as per those for no-deal we've already got rid of most so the EU will face more competition anyway
I await with eager anticipation the world adopting equivalence in regulations to reduce barriers to trade. Don't think it's happening any time soon, there are individual initiatives (@alanbeattie has written about how take up of some has been zero)

@alanbeattie Anyway thanks for those insights Liam Fox. I have a strong suspicion that leavers could become even more vocal in Brexit Phase 2 about how critics / remainers / the EU / everyone but themselves is to blame when reality doesn't match the brochure
