Hi! I'm April. Inspired by Roxane Gay (don't @ her, she's busy), I'm doing an international mileage run this weekend. I leave tonight. Nah, I haven't packed. And I'm going to try and do it with just an overnight bag, not my usual rollerbag. Come along for the ride, won't you?
London! First stop is the @VirginAtlantic Revivals Lounge thanks to my @Delta status where I can take a shower and apparently get a facial and have something ironed. The water pressure is better than my house and this cute little room has everything I need. #TrierTaughtMe
I had a lovely breakfast with @WilliamAdoasi, founder of @VitaeLondon at @Dishoom. We had the Wrestler’s Roll or something and it was yummy. 
I then went back to @DarkSugars and picked up more of the chocolate that they import from Ghana. Video on my IG Story, also @ReignOfApril.
Had calamari and peach rosehips tea at Basuba. The calamari was... not the rings or the squigglies that I’m accustomed to. Definitely an acquired taste.
And then I met @SophiaCannon. EYE said “super casual, come as you are, let’s just grab a bite.”

Not realizing that Sophia had a surprise in store, I invited @RichieBrave because he was running late for our one on one meet, and THEN I gave him the wrong location. 🙄 But he showed up anyway, and it was great to vibe with him again.
I spent $18 US on an all-day metro/train/subway/tube card and it was well worth it. Heathrow was nearly an hour from everywhere I needed to be. The trains ran every 2-3 minutes(!!!), something I’m not used to in the States. No complaints.
Listen. At Heathrow they had a separate security area for @VirginAtlantic and @Delta customers with status. Y’all. I was the ONLY one. Walked through like....
My flight leaves in an hour and it doesn’t have a gate yet. But the @VirginAtlantic lounge at @HeathrowAirport has table service and chicken tikka masala so...
Not headed home just yet. Hey #Joburg! Anyone free in #Johannesburg tomorrow for a meal or summn? Where is @LeratoMannya? You had that baby yet, sis?
The one negative about a mileage run is that you’re moving so far so quickly that your time zones are wacky. I’ve had 2 hours of sleep since Thursday night. 😳 But this flight is 10 hours long, I just ate so don’t need what they’re serving, and I took two Dramamine. Wheels up! ✈️

Today was super quiet in Johannesburg. I walked the equivalent of a 10K yesterday around London and it’s rainy here, so I stayed in the airport. And now it’s back to London!
But this is the coolest thing I saw today in the Johannesburg airport. It’s Madiba made entirely of beads. There were a few of him around.
